Below are some problems that a shareholder often faces. MC Finnzon helps investors convert physical shares to Demat — cleanly, without loss of ownership.
Dormant Demat Account
A demat account of an investor may become dormant due to inactivity for a long time. This frequently happens with passive investors who adopt a “buy and forget” approach. It also happens when someone opens a fresh demat account without transferring shares from the old one — creating trading and transmission complications later. We reactivate dormant accounts, consolidate holdings, and update KYC.
Loss of Demat Details
Due to various reasons, a shareholder may lose demat details, resulting in a complete lack of communication with the company and the depository participant. Statements stop coming, corporate actions get missed, and dividends bounce back. We help recover DP details, reset access, and re-establish contact with all issuers.
Shortfall of Updated Information
When address changes are not updated with the depository participant or the company, mismatches arise — resulting in loss of dividends, bonuses, split shares, rights issues, and similar corporate benefits. We synchronise records across the DP, RTAs and issuing companies.
Why Dematerialise Now?
SEBI now mandates dematerialisation for any transfer of shares. Physical certificates cannot be sold, gifted, transferred or transmitted without first being dematerialised. If you or a family member holds physical certificates, converting them proactively saves months of paperwork later.
Our Demat Process
- DP Account Setup — Open a demat account with a Depository Participant, if you don't already have one.
- DRF Submission — Fill and submit the Demat Request Form along with the physical certificates.
- Certificate Defacement — Original certificates are defaced and forwarded to the RTA for verification.
- RTA Verification — The RTA validates the certificates against company records.
- Credit to Demat — Shares are credited to your demat account and are now tradeable.
